History
• June 24, 1571
- A portion of Makati was founded by by three Spanish conquistadors, led by Martin de GoitiJuan de Salcedo and Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
• 1867
- Spanish government founded the municipalities and territories south of the District of Morong in Nueva Ecija, north of the Province of Tondo and Imperial Manila. 
• The Government created the Province of Manila composed of the Province of Tondo to the south and the isolated territories of Nueva Ecija to the north.

-Caters  International and Domestic flights
-NAIA is located along the border between Pasay City and ParaƱaque City in Metro Manila. It is about 4 miles (7 km) south of the city, and southwest of Makati City's Central Business District. 
• Consists of 4 passenger terminals: 
-NAIA Terminal 1: Manila Airport Terminal 1 serves international flights from several airlines. It has 16 gates: 1-7, 9-12 and 14-16.
-NAIA Terminal 2: Manila Airport Terminal 2 currently houses international and domestic flights of the country’s flag carrier: Philippine Airlines, PAL Express and other airlines. The building has an arrowhead design with withsix-storeys. It is divided into two wings: North wing for International Flights, South wing for Domestic Flights.  
-NAIA Terminal 3: Manila Airport Terminal 3 serves the internatonal flights not served at Terminal 1 and some domestic flights. Is the newest and largest terminal in NAIA.
• NAIA Terminal 4: Manila Airport Terminal 4 hosts flights from local and regional carriers such as Cebgo. It is the oldest terminal in the airport and spreads into a single level.

PASIG RIVER FERRY
• The Pasig River Ferry Service is the only water-based transportation in Metro Manila, Philippines that cruises the Pasig River from Pinagbuhatan in Pasig to Intramuros in the City of Manila. The system is owned and operated by a private company, SCC Nautical Transport Services Incorporated.

• Feast of the Black Nazarene (9th of January)
- Day-long festival highlighted by a mammoth procession of the image of the Black Nazarene around Quiapo district.

• Caracol (27th of February - movable)
- Official festival of the City of Makati wherein participating groups are dressed in flowers, trees, birds, butterflies, fruits and other endangered species of animals in expression for the need to preserve and conserve our national heritage. 

• Feast of St. John the Baptist
(24th of June)
A regular celebration of the feast of the patron saint of the city, St. John the Baptist. It features a resplendent procession of the saint’s images on gaily-decorated carriages highlighted by joyful water-dousing.

Shoe Capital of the Philippines

• Derivation of “Marikina”
-named from Governor General, Captain Berenguer de Marquina in 1787 under Spanish Government.
- named after a Jesuit priest who established a settlement naming it Jesus dela Pena-Jesus of the Rocks. 1687, the settlement became a parish and then known as Marquina.
• Became a town in 1787
• 1887
-shoemaking industry started through the pioneering of Don Laureano (Kapitan Kaloy)
• Biggest manufacturer of quality shoes-made from rubber, wood, and plastic.
• Manufactures food processing, cigarettes, porcelain and chinawares, automobiles and cars, appliances, and crafts.

-Evolution Park -The dairy-farm theme, complete with 18 life-size replicas of cows. 
-Shoe Museum built with the aim of becoming an important venue for nurturing the historical values of the country’s shoe industry.
-Worlds’ Largest Pair of Shoes - 529 centimeter(5.29 meters)long and 237 centimeters(2.37 meters)width.

Muntinlupa City
EMERALD CITY OF THE PHILIPPINES 





• Known for Agricultural Community and its Penitentiary, New Bilibid Prison (NBP)
• Awarded as the “Most Competitive City” and the “Most Improved City” in the Philippines due large scale of commercial real estate development… FilinvestDevelopment Corp. and Ayala Land Inc.
• Has Manufacturing Products, Semiconductor, Food, Textile and Manufacturing Industries.

Tourist Attractions
• -Jamboree Lake -the smallest lake in the Philippines. It is within the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) compound. 

• Memorial Hill- a small hill found in the NBP compound that features a vintage cannon from World War II. 
-Famous as the burial place of Major Eriberto B. Misa Sr., the Prison Director from 1937 to 1949.
Marked in history by developing programs for prisoners’ recreation while inside Bilibid Prison.

Banhayan Festival (Sept. 10)- thanksgiving for their patron “Impong Kulas” de Tolentino.
  
Bulaklakan Festival (May)- procession of the Patron saint “Mary Mother of God”

Fishing Capital of the Philippines

-Komedya/Moro-Moro (May)- theatrical drama which history dates back during the Spanish times. The presence of the vital elements in a drama like love, hate, war, religion and parental disputes make the Komedya spectacular.

- features a parade of escorted young ladies holding colorful parasols.

Intramuros the walled city multifaceted built by the Spaniards upon their occupation in Manila. The name is taken from the Latin, intra muros, literally "Within the walls", meaning within the wall enclosure of the city/fortress.

-derived from the Tagalog word ‘binondoc’ which means ‘mountainous’ as it is set on a hilly landscape.
